Official Announcement: Clarification Regarding SOTHING Products in Hong Kong and Macau

Our company, Best Hope Enterprise Limited, is the officially authorized distributor of the brand “SOTHING” (hereinafter referred to as SOTHING) in Hong Kong and Macau, fully responsible for the brand’s supply, after-sales service, and all administrative matters in both regions.

Recently, our company has received numerous complaints from customers and merchants on online shopping platforms and offline stores in Hong Kong and Macau, alleging that some retail stores and large chain stores are selling SOTHING products labeled as “official goods” with unclear origins, questionable authenticity, and potentially lacking original manufacturer after-sales support. Following our investigation and based on information provided by our clients, we discovered that an electronics wholesale company is claiming to be the “SOTHING general distributor” and “SOTHING official goods supplier” to customers, wholesale/retail stores, and institutional buyers, and is even falsely claiming to large chain stores that “SOTHING has changed distributors.”

Regarding this matter, our company immediately verified with the brand headquarters and received an official and clear reply: Our company is the sole authorized distributor in Hong Kong and Macau. The brand has not authorized any other Hong Kong or Macau company as an agent or partner. The company’s claims of agency status and authenticity are purely fictitious.

However, this company has blatantly used false statements such as “authentic product,” “original factory product,” “Hong Kong authentic product,” “Hong Kong officially authorized distributor,” “SOTHING sole distributor,” “Hong Kong authentic product maintenance,” and “SOTHING has changed distributors” to sell products of unknown origin, intending to mislead consumers and retailers. Such egregious sales tactics not only constitute suspected consumer fraud but also seriously damage the reputation of our company and the brand, and undermine consumer confidence in Hong Kong as a “shopping paradise” and “city of genuine goods.”

The company’s actions are suspected of violating Hong Kong’s Trade Descriptions Ordinance, Copyright Ordinance, and Trademarks Ordinance. Its false statements to large chain stores may also constitute a crime under the Crimes Ordinance. In light of the above, our company hereby makes the following solemn declaration:

1. After-sales service responsibility: For products bearing the mark of SOTHING that are not supplied by our company (regardless of whether they are listed in the authorized store list) or sold at unauthorized retail outlets of unknown origin, our after-sales service department will not provide any after-sales service, and our sales department will not handle related matters.

2. Brand content authorization: Any merchant or individual in Hong Kong and Macau (whether selling through any online or offline platform, application, social media, or communication software) is strictly prohibited from using any official product images, promotional materials, videos, content, and trademarks of the SOTHING brand (including cropped, modified, or reproduced content) without the formal authorization of our company and the brand owner.

Sole guarantee: Only authorized retail stores selling genuine SOTHING products directly supplied by our company in Hong Kong and Macau are entitled to use official brand materials for display and provide their customers with original manufacturer after-sales service.

We urge the relevant companies and merchants to immediately cease selling the aforementioned products of unknown origin and to correct their inappropriate advertising to prevent further damage to their rights and reputation.
